WHAT IS LOCK REKEYING?
Lock rekeying changes the internal pin configuration of your existing lock cylinder so that old keys no longer work. New keys that match the new configuration are cut — and only those keys open your lock. The lock hardware itself stays exactly where it is. Rekeying is faster, cheaper, and just as secure as full lock replacement when the lock itself is in good condition.
WHEN SHOULD YOU REKEY YOUR LOCKS?
- Just moved into a new home or apartment — you do not know who has copies of the old keys
- Lost your keys or had them stolen — even without a known theft, rekeying removes all risk
- A tenant has moved out of your rental property

REKEYING VS. REPLACING — WHICH IS BETTER?
Rekeying is the right choice when your lock hardware is in good condition and you just want to change who has access. Replacing is better when your locks are old, worn, damaged, or low-quality and you want an upgrade in security and durability. We assess your locks when we arrive and give you an honest recommendation — sometimes a mix of both makes sense, especially when some locks are old and others are not.
